Chesterfield County, VA. (NewsradioWRVA.com) A garage is a total loss and a couple of Chesterfield firefighters suffered minor injuries as the result of a fire that occurred at a home on Quailwood Road near Manchester High School in Chesterfield.
Firefighters were called to the scene about 10:43 Wednesday morning. Sal Luciano with Chesterfield Fire & EMS says that there were no fire hydrants in the area, which did lead to a couple of challenges in fighting the fire. Luciano says they requested a couple water tankers and extended 2,000 feet of hose to extend to a nearby subdivision for water supply.
One of the firefighters was treated on scene for an extremity injury. Another firefighter was taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion. Both are expected to be okay. No residents of the house were injured
