Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The former Prince William County Registrar faces two felony counts, and a misdemeanor, related to alleged actions taken during the 2020 election. The Attorney General revealed the charges earlier this week, but declined to detail the allegations. The current Director of Elections for Prince William, Eric Olsen, said in an email that no outcomes were impacted.

The announcement came just days before the Attorney General also announced he was creating an "Election Integrity Unit" in his office. Democrats have already decried it as unnecessary. An limited audit of the 2020 election by election officials found no fraud.

Michele White, the registrar charged, left the position in 2021. Olsen says discrepancies were reported to election officials this year, and that is when the investigation began.
