Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The average price of gas in both the Commonwealth as a whole, and in Richmond, are at their highest levels ever seen. The averages break records set in 2008.
The current Richmond average is $4.11 a gallon, and the current Virginia average is $4.10. Prices have shot up since the start of the Ukraine invasion, and AAA's Morgan Dean says the decision on ban Russian oil imports will likely cause prices to go up further.
Dean says it is also difficult to switch to a more fuel efficient car right now because there is a new car shortage because of a lack of chips. He recommends taking steps to make your car as fuel efficient as possible, such as combining trips, proper maintenance, and properly inflating your tires.
