Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas prices have finally returned to 2021 levels. The current statewide average is $3.21, the same it was at this time a year ago. In Richmond, the average is $3.20, one cent higher than tis time in 2021.
AAA Spokesman Morgan Dean credits lower crude oil prices, which are now around $77 a barrel. Over the summer, they reached $122 a barrel. Virginia gas prices broke a record of $4.86 on June 14th.
Dean says the situation is also being helped by additional supply, and lower fall demand.
