Blacksburg, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam visited Virginia Tech on Thursday to announce he's proposing $111 million in Covid relief funds to go towards financial aid. Northam says $100 million would go to public school financial aid, and $11 million to a grant program for students heading to private schools.

The money would be on top of Covid money schools are already receiving from the Federal Government. Northam has been rolling out proposals for Covid relief spending over the past few weeks.

The General Assembly will meet to vote on those proposals next week.
