Hanover County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Hanover High School has suspended its baseball program following reports of misconduct.
The school division made the announcement on Friday, Nov. 15, saying all varsity and junior varsity baseball activities would be suspended immediately as a result of misconduct reports.
The suspension will allow time for officials to investigate the allegations. As of the time of reporting, the school district has not shared details of the allegations. School leaders said they are prohibited from “sharing details concerning matters pertaining to specific students.”
“While we recognize that this is a significant step, we believe it is necessary until a complete accounting can be gathered," school leaders said in a statement. "We take all reports of misconduct seriously and are committed to a thorough investigation to help ensure that the program is one where all students feel safe, respected, and supported.”
