Hanover County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Hanover Police will once again be participating in Project Sticker Shock, a program designed to discourage people over 21 from buying alcohol for minors.
Through Project Sticker Shock, groups of youth -- accompanied by a uniformed police officer -- will visit the beer coolers of licensed establishments and leave stickers on the product. The stickers are printed with reminders that buying and distributing alcohol to people under 21 is a class 1 misdemeanor. The program is a partnership between Hanover Police, youth, parents, and businesses.
Statistically speaking, police say underage drinking isn't a significant problem in Hanover. This program, according to Hanover Police, aims to keep it that way
