Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Police say the county animal shelter is temporarily closing, as they deal with a rise in infections that could lead to canine flu. It comes just days after the Richmond shelter announced it was closing for two weeks because of a potential canine flu outbreak.

Like Richmond, Henrico will not be able to take in stray dogs, and will only be able to deal with cruelty and bite cases. They are asking people who find strays to try and reunite them with their owners.

Henrico says it can provide a crate and food until the shelter’s quarantine is over.
