Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico County leaders have officially moved high school graduation ceremonies to the new Sports and Events Center located on the old Virginia Center Commons property.
There will be nine graduation ceremonies over the course of three days, starting on May 29.
County leaders, the events center, and Henrico police say they’re making sure they communicate with residents who may be impacted by the graduations.
Officials said there will be a multi-layered security plan that will include a heavy police presence and weapons detectors at all entrances. There will also be multiple exits and entrances for parking, as well as a plan for overflow. Police will also help with directing traffic as people leave.
