Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico supervisors voted Tuesday to prohibit the knowing possession, carrying, or transportation of firearms, ammunition, and components in county buildings, any rec or community center, and facilities operated by the county or by entities such as the sports and entertainment authority.
Those in violation could face a class 2 misdemeanor or a class 1 misdemeanor if it occurs “with an intent to intimidate or harass another person,” according to the ordinance, which is effective immediately.
Supervisors say it’s designed to promote public safety and align with similar measures in place for buildings throughout the state and county.
