Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico's School Board has unanimously voted to udnergo sensitivity training after Board Chair Micky Ogburn posted, and then deleted, an offensive social media post regarding the recent Dr. Suess controversy. The post criticized the decision to stop printing books featuring racial stereotypes, and also featured the Grinch raising his middle finger.
Ogburn apologized following a closed door meeting. She says she did not fully read the post, and if she had, she would not have shared it. The Board called it an opportunity to reaffirm their opposition to discrimination.
The post was only up for a few hours.
