Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Early Monday morning, first responders were called to remove a vehicle from the James River. An investigation into the matter has been launched.

At 4:23 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, Richmond Police and the Richmond Fire Department were called to the 7900 block of Riverside Drive for the report of a car in the water.

"Once on scene, fire crews found a vehicle in the water along the shoreline," stated Deputy Brad Hughes of the Powhatan County Sheriff's office.
