Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Early Monday morning, first responders were called to remove a vehicle from the James River. An investigation into the matter has been launched.
At 4:23 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, Richmond Police and the Richmond Fire Department were called to the 7900 block of Riverside Drive for the report of a car in the water.
"Once on scene, fire crews found a vehicle in the water along the shoreline," stated Deputy Brad Hughes of the Powhatan County Sheriff's office.
Crews with Water Rescue 3 were able to do a complete search of the vehicle and determined that no one was in the sedan at the time. The vehicle was removed from the river, and police said no one was present in the area.
Richmond Police are now investigating.
