Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has awarded its annual “Innovation in Park Design” to Henrico County’s Taylor Farm Park.
Taylor Farm Park is now the first Henrico park to ever receive a national award, and the honor comes less than a year after its opening.
Taylor Farm Park – located at 200 Whiteside Road, in the county’s East End – opened in July 2024. The popular park features mini waterfalls, shallow pools, an interactive play stream with stepping stones and other attractions.
The Innovation in Park Design award “recognizes park and recreation agencies that have improved their communities through innovative practices in park design, health and well-being, environmental resilience and equity,” per the county.
The NRPA will formally recognize Taylor Farm Park during its NRPA Annual Conference in September.
