Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The State Attorney General's Office says it has settled with RIR Mart Exxon, located right across the street from Richmond Raceway, over gouging concerns. The gouging, according to the AG's Office, occurred May 11th, right as a State of Emergency was being declared over the Colonial Pipeline shutdown.

The office says on May 11th, RIR Mart Exxon raised its premiuim unleaded price from $3.49 a gallon to $4.49 a gallon. The increase occurred right after the emergency was declared, making it eligible to be reviewed under the Commonwealth's anti-gouging law.

The station agreed to pay a small civil penalty and pay back its excess profits. The AG's office says anyone seeking reimbursement from buying premium unlead that day should contact their Consumer Protection Section.
