Henrico County, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) The Henrico Police Division met at Echo Lake Park on Friday afternoon to get ready to deliver complete Thanksgiving meals to some needy Henrico families. It was all thanks to a generous, anonymous donor. The collaborative deed is an opportunity to foster long-lasting relationships and demonstrate we are one community.

The Henrico family, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated turkeys and other goods to the Police Division in partnership to go out and provide nearly thirty families with a meal during this holiday season.

While this is not the first year this Henrico family has provided these meals to the community, Henrico Police was happy to be a part of it in 2020. Members of the Henrico School Services Unit dispersed across Henrico to share these donated items with families and children, and in doing so, it enables us to converse and ultimately foster positive relationships.

Thanksgiving is a time to share memorable moments, give thanks and help others. We’re thankful for this family and their donation. “The Henrico Police Division wishes everyone a safe, enjoyable holiday season,” says Lieutenant Matt Pecka. As first responders, we are here for you 24/7 by calling 804-501-5000.
