Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Schools have announced they will be giving all employees a $500 bonus at the start of the next school year. The money is coming from the district's Covid funding. The bonus is smaller than the $3,000 given to Richmond teachers, but Superintendent Amy Cashwell says teachers are also receiving a 5% raise, and unlike the bonus, the raise is not one-time cash.
The district is also offering teachers another $500 if they refer another person who is then hired full-time. The district also plans to add two days off to the schedule as mental and physical health days. The exact days off have not been chosen yet.
The district also boosted pay for newer teachers.
