Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Henrico County has announced that the 2024 and 2025 Atlantic-10 Women's Basketball Championships will be held at the new Henrico Sports & Events Center.
The facility will be open by fall this year, according to Henrico Sports & Entertainment Authority's Dennis Bickmeier, and it's already been booked for 42 weekends of 2024. Bickmeier says the tournament will have a major economic impact on the region.
The events center, located at the site of the former Virginia Center Commons, is also set to hold the National Wheelchair Basketball Association's next national championship game.
