Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Virginians' top concern is inflation, according to a recent survey by VCU's Wilder School of Government.

At 36%, inflation scored well ahead of all the other issues addressed in the survey, including education, reproductive rights, and gun control. What this poll shows above all else, according to former Governor Doug Wilder, is that "Virginians are concerned about the costs of living."

When asked about Virginia's budget surplus, however, a plurality of those surveyed said they'd like to see Virginia's $1 billion budget surplus be used for projects like building schools.

Overall, however, wilder emphasized that "the people are... focused on inflation and the skyrocketing cost of living.”
