Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Henrico Police have obtained several petitions to charge a teenage suspect for a carjacking that led to the death of a cyclist.

Henrico Police say they responded to a carjacking call on Monday night on the 4300 block of Lakefield Mews Drive. They say they located the vehicle not long after, at which time they initiated a pursuit. During that pursuit, while traveling at a high rate of speed on Williamsburg Road, they say the suspect hit a cyclist from behind. The suspect vehicle then crashed into a utility pole. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The cyclist hit -- also a juvenile male -- was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect has now been charged with Carjacking, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile, Felony Eluding, and Felony Murder.
