Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The State Attorney General's Office says the State Supreme Court has denied a rehearing in the Lee Monument case. Supporters of the Monument had wanted the Court to reconsider its unanimous decision, which allowed the Monument to be removed from its pedestal on September 8th.
The Plaintiffs were looking for the the monument to be restored, or, at least, that the Commonwealth give up control of the property. The Court rarely grants rehearings.
The Lee Monument was the last monument still standing on Monument Avenue when it was removed.
