Man Arrested In Connection to Deadly Fire

Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico County Police have announced that one man has been arrested and charged in relation to the Elkridge Lane fire that killed two. On Thursday, December 15th, Henrico Police were notified by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina that they had arrested Elton Thompson, 35, and charged him with breaking and entering into a commercial business. Henrico detectives responded to Wilson County to interview Thompson regarding the fire on Elkridge Lane.

In connection to Thursday's deadly fire, Henrico Police have now charged Elton Thompson with second-degree murder and grand larceny of a vehicle. He remains in custody in Wilson County, North Carolina.

The first victim to be identified was Gail Katrina Thompson, 61, on Friday. Now, Henrico Police have identified the second victim of the fire as Florence C. Thompson, 89. Another resident was evaluated at the scene but was deemed unharmed.
