Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A 46-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder after his father was found dead in his home on Wednesday.

Chesterfield Police announced Thursday that 46-year-old Frank B. Wyatt was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of his father, 69-year-old Richard Wyatt.

Chesterfield Police said they received a call from Richmond Police at around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, asking officers to check on a man in a home on Goldenbrook Drive in Chesterfield.

“Once on scene, police discovered a deceased man, identified as Richard W. Wyatt, 69, inside the residence,” police said. “The investigation indicates that Richard Wyatt was killed at some point during the last week.”

According to court documents, Frank told police that about two weeks before his father’s body was found, the pair got into a physical altercation. During the fight, Frank told police he got onto his father’s back and choked him for “minutes” and found that he was not breathing.

Frank said he then pushed his father down the stairs, which is how his father’s body was found by police on Wednesday, court documents stated.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chesterfield Police Department at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
