Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, the city’s first responders were called to the Southern States building to rescue a man who had fallen more than 40 feet and gotten trapped.
According to authorities, the unidentified man had been inside the Southern States building located off Manchester Road when he fell, around 40 to 50 feet, through the white-walled area with open windows.
The man was safely extracted and did not have any serious injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
Crews are not sure how the man got into the building since it’s an active construction site. The investigation is ongoing
