Chesterfield, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - This morning, for the first time since March 2020, some Chesterfield School students will be entering school buildings without a mask. The county school board voted narrowly earlier this week to make masks optional, despite the fact the county is right around a peak of Covid-19 cases.
The masks are optional under the rules, meaning parents can also chose to send their kids with masks if they desire. Any child riding a school bus, however, will need to wear a mask because school buses are covered under federal rules and those require masks.
Hanover's optional mask rules start next week.
