(RICHMOND, Va. - WRVA) - The doors opened today for a mass vaccination clinic that happened at Celebration Church on Midlothian Turnpike. The Richmond/Henrico Health District is hoping to get 800 people vaccinated at the event today.
The event is for people who have pre-registered and have appointments. Health District spokeswoman Cat Long had said that they chose that location because Southside Richmond is a location that would serve more people who are vulnerable to contracting the virus.
The health district is also partnering with GRTC to get people rides to clinic locations.
