Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney says 90% of city employees have received at least one vaccination shot, and 99% of employees are in compliance with the requirement to get vaccinated or get a medical or health exemption. Stoney made the comments during his weekly Covid briefing at City Hall.
Stoney, earlier this year, required that all city employees get vaccinated or get an exemption. The deadline to reach that was October 1st.
Stoney says he chose the "mandate" because government is a "customer-facing" operation and the risk of transmission is high.
