Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com)- Richmond's mayor, Levar Stoney, spoke out after city council did not gain enough votes to being rennovations on George Wythe hiighschool, calling the situation a stalemate.

The city council only needed six votes agreeing to give the money to Richmond Public Schools for the development to bein, but only four council members voted for it.

Mayor Stoney says that the city council did their job by asking the tough questions and being good stewards of tax payer's money. Council members still cannot agree on how many students the school should house nor on who should have authority to make decisions regarding the development.

Mayor Levar Stoney also said that there's a stalemate between not only the two groups, but also within those sitting on the school board. Nevertheless, he is hopeful that the adults will find a compromise for the children.
