Newport News, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The mother of the six year old that shot his teacher in January in Newport News, says she takes responsibility for her son's actions. Deja Taylor spokes in an exclusive interview with ABC News on Good Morning America. Taylor's lawyer, who says his client will be looking for a plea deal, sidestepped a question as to how the boy got the gun.

Taylor says her son suffers from a severe case of ADHD. The boy's grandfather says the boy doesn't talk about the day, but does talk about the day's leading up to the shooting. Taylor says she actually had a good relationship with teacher Abby Zwerner.

Taylor faces charges of child neglect and recklessly leaving a firearm. Zwerner is suing the school district for $40 million.
