Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia NAACP says it wants the Attorney General's Office to disband the recently announced Election Integrity Unit. The unit has also come under criticism from Democrats, who say it is not needed.
The civil rights organization says it wants the EIU replaced with a unit focusing on voter suppression and voter intimidation. Attorney General Jason Miyares (R), on a recent appearance on the Jeff Katz Show, says he formed the unit because of questions raised recently by both Republicans and Democrats.
Miyraes recently announced, but did not detail, charges against the former Prince William County Registrar related to the 2020 election. An audit of the 2020 election in Virginia found no fraud.
