Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A new poll for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association finds that nearly 70% of Virginia adults say they are vaccinated. However, there does not appear to be much movement to increase that number. The poll also found that of the 31% unvaccinated, nearly 90% of them have no plans to get the shots.
The VHHA's Julian Walker says a number of reasons were provided for not getting vaccinated, ranging from concerns about health problems with the shots to doubts about the Covid threat. The virus has claimed 100,000s of thousands of lives in the U.S., and the vaccines have been shown, in large perentages, to be safe.
The VHHA is encourgaing people to get vaccinated, with Walker pointing out the pandemic now has largely become a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Over 90 percent of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are among the unvaccinated.
