Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The ramp leading from North Belvidere street onto I-95 south has been closed for a long-term project set to be under construction until at least early 2024. The project will include a demolition and reconstruction of the ramp and its retaining wall, as well as "significant utility work" and some changes to the crosswalks adjacent to the ramp.

The construction aims to make the area safer both for cars merging onto the interstate and for pedestrians walking nearby. Though the ramp will likely be closed for over a year, another ramp from North Belvidere to I-95 South - which has been closed for construction for some time - has been reopened, and another detour has been made available.
