Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Ralph Northam (D) today announced a slight loosening of Covid restrictions in Virginia. Social gatherings, which covers weddings, can now have 50 people indoors and 100 outdoors. Major sporting venues can now have 30% of their capacity, with no cap on the total number.
High school sporting events can have 30 percent of capacity, or 500, outdoors, whichever is lower. The new looser restrictions go into effect April 1st.
Northam says the restrictions will be reviewed monthly. He says improving Covid metrics allowed these changes to be made now.
