Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The two Corrections Officers tasked with watching Naseem Roulack have admitted to falling asleep when the inmate escaped from Saint Mary's Hospital August 12th. Both left employment with the Corrections Department August 23rd, resigning instead of being let go.
The internal investigation also found Roulack was wearing nylon cuffs, rather than metal ones, on his legs because the hospital requested it. Doctors wanted to do Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) tests, which conflict with metal. Corrections says metal cuffs should have been put on following the procedure.
Roulack remains free. He is also now a suspect in a September carjacking in Montgomery County, Maryland. There is a $20,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
