Chester, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield Police say both officers, as well as the suspect, shot in last night's incident at the Broadwater Community have been treated and released. Police also say Kelvin Hunter of Richmond has been charged with two counts of aggravated attempted murder and two counts of use of a firearm. He is being held without bond.
Police say Hunter attacked an officer as they were waiting for a return call from a crisis team. The initial call was for a disturbed individual. Police say Hunter tried to grab the officer's gun and there was a struggle. One officer was shot in the bullet-proof vest, and a second, who had been upstairs with a family member, was shot in the leg.
Police say they had been on scene for 20 minutes before the attack occurred.
