Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash and subsequent vehicle fire at a Downtown Expressway toll booth on Monday morning. The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. on eastbound VA-195.
Witnesses say that after the crash into the concrete divider of the toll booth, the vehicle burst into flames. State police, Richmond police, and Richmond Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found one person inside the vehicle dead.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The Richmond Police Department is leading the investigation. Police are waiting to notify the victim’s family before releasing their identity.
