Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - With one week to go to comment on the Youngkin Administration rewrite of the Transgender Model Policy for Schools, over 60,000 comments have been received online. The final day to comment is October 26th.
The Youngkin Administration says it rewrote the policy because the previous one, issued by the Northam Administration, in their view, attempted "cultural and social transformation." This new model policy requires teachers use pronouns matching the official record, and that kids play on teams matching their sex. The Administration says it goes into effect after the 26th.
Legal analysts say a legal challenge is possible.
