Petersburg, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Petersburg Bureau of Police is warning the public about a scam in which a caller attempts to get money by posing as the Chief of Police.
In a Facebook post, the Bureau said they have been alerted to a scam where a caller pretends to be the Chief of Police and solicits funds saying that there are warrants for them.
“The Petersburg Bureau of Police would not contact you in this manner for warrants,” the Bureau said. “DO NOT give anyone calling your information.”
Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact the Petersburg Bureau of Police at 804-732-4222 and request to speak to a supervisor.
