Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k is set to take place this Saturday, April 20, bringing with it thousands of attendees and spectators.
Ahead of the event, the Richmond Police Department has issued a traffic advisory with numerous road closures and “No Parking” zones in the area.
The 10k race begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, but the street closures and “No Parking” zones will go into effect on Thursday, April 18, according to police. Cars parked alongside the racecourse will be towed.
Until the race is over, Monument Avenue will be closed between Stuart Circle and Willow Lawn Drive, as well as the intersection of Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Monument Avenue. Other major road closures include West Broad Street, West Grace Street, West Franklin Street and Lombardy Street.
