(Richmond, VA) - We're not expecting a lot of rain in the immediate metro area, with the possible exception of Thursday morning, but in the western part of the state, they are expecting quite a bit of rain.
NBC 12 meteorologist Andrew Freiden says that Flash Flood Watches are in effect along the I-81 corridor. The effect for us could be that the James River level may rise in the next couple of days because of flooding west of us.
The rain that is here is in advance of a cold front that will bring beautiful autumn weather Thursday afternoon into the weekend. It will be a picture-perfect start to the State Fair of Virginia, which begins Friday at Meadow Event Park in Caroline County.
