Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The NFL Network and the online sports business journal Sportico are reporting Dan Snyder has neared a deal to sell the Washington Commanders. The deal, if reached, would be for around six billion dollars, and would be the largest ever for a sports team.
The new owners would be Josh Harris, co-owner of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers (and NHL's New Jersey Devils), as well as NBA great Magic Johnson. Snyder, according to the NFL's own website, remains under a league investigation for workplace culture and for potential financial issues. Snyder also was at one time under a Congressional investigation for the workplace environment at the team, which included allegations of sexual harassment.
The Commanders, up until this last year, used to hold their training camp in Richmond behind the Science Museum of Virginia.
