Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Richmond Henrico Health District says it will start offering the new "bivalent" Covid-19 vaccine at its September 14th clinic. The new booster is supposed to provide protection against the Omicron variants of Covid, especially BA-4 and BA-5.
Dr. Elaine Perry, RHHD Director, says anyone 12 and older is eligible. You just need to be at least two months out from your last Covid shot. Perry also says anyone who had Covid within the last three months can probably wait to get the booster as they will have some natural immunity.
Perry, like other professionals, anticipates Covid shots becoming like flu shots, with new formulations being tailored each year to combat the variant that is out there.
