Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - On Thursday's show, Mayor Avula chatted with John Reid about what it was like to be tasked with navigating Richmond's water crisis after just six days on the job.
"I think, undoubtedly, we will find as we break down the blow-by-blow, we'll find intervention points where maybe we could've done something differently," Avula said.

City officials have retained HNTB, a major infrastructure development corporation, to investigate the root causes of the water outage. Avula says his administration will make it a priority to keep the public informed about the results of the investigation.
"I think the EPA report flagged a number of issues that should've been addressed and ongoing work that needed to be done," Avula said. "When we have an audit from a federal agency, I think we need to build a culture around a more rapid response."
