Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -

ORIGINIAL: The Richmond School Board is unhappy with the Richmond Electoral Board, after it moved two polling places out of schools. The Board cited air quality concerns for the decision, even though both buildings serve students. Both locations have had mold issues.

The polling places were taken out of Clark Springs Elementary and Boushall Middle School. Clark Springs is home to Fox Elementary as it rebuilds from a 2022 fire. The polling places were moved to VCU and to the Hickory Hill Community Center.

The district says independent, professional companies have checked both buildings and confirmed they are safe. The district also says it regrets the anxiety the decision has caused for students, staff, and families.
