Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield County police have arrested a 13-year-old Salem Church Middle School student after police say he made posts on social media threatening a shooting at the school.

An unnamed male student has now been charged with a class 6 felony and threats of death or bodily injury to persons or school property after making social media reports on Tuesday, Sept. 10 threatening a shooting at “Salem” the following day. Police said they received reports of additional social media comments threatening “violence.”


Police said the investigation indicates that the suspect had no access to weapons and “no means” to carry out the online threats.

CCPD added that it takes all reports of school violence seriously and each threat will be thoroughly investigated.
