
Charles City, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Police continue to look for a suspect whom they say shot a Charles City County Sheriff's Deputy. The Deputy, who was hit in the back, has been treated and released. He was wearing a ballistic vest.
Police says the deputy went to the Dollar General on Courthouse Road in Charles City after a call for an armed robbery. Police say the suspect shot at the deputy inside the store, and the two then fired on each other outside the store as well. The suspect then fled to the woods.
Suspect description is limited as the man was wearing a hoodie, gloves, and a mask. Police do say he was thin and around 6-1. He took off into the woods around the store after the shooting.
