Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Though Central Virginia is likely to see some storms on Thursday afternoon, the overall risk for severe weather remains low.
NBC12's Nick Russo rated the expected storms as a "marginal risk," with potential for small hail, wind, lightning, and heavy rain. The storms are expected to occur on-and-off between 4 and 10 pm.
Despite the relatively low risk, people are still advised to avoid driving through severe weather if possible. Though this is the same weather system as the one poised to sweep through the Midwest, they should be significantly weaker by the time they reach Virginia.
