Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Richmond and the surrounding area could be facing severe storms this afternoon and evening. NBC12 Meteorologist Andrew Freiden says the timeline for the storms is likely between 3pm and 9pm, with the greater likelihood being between 5pm and 8pm.
Freiden says not every area will see rain, is it won't be an unbroken line of storms coming through. He also says there will not be clearing, but rather, additional rain behind the storms as well. There is also a risk of storms on Friday.
Freiden says the greatest issue from the storms will likely be straight line winds. Flooding won't be an issue because the heaviest rain will be to the east. He actually says the rain will be beneficial given our lack of rain recently.
