Richmond, VA. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - The Richmond area could see some severe weather this evening. NBC 12 meteorologist Nick Russo says that the primary time window for strong storms will be between 8 and midnight tonight. There's even a tornado risk for south and west of Richmond. In general, heavy rain and strong wind gusts are the main concern.

This is ahead of a cold front that will dramatically change our weather starting on Tuesday and continuing long-term. Russo says that weather pattern should be with us for the next couple of weeks as we head into November. This is the same system that brought severe weather to Missouri on Sunday. Nick also says the system that brought extreme weather to the Pacific Coast should be here on Friday and bring possible downpours.
