Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Shamrock The Block is back for its 18th year in Richmond, offering music performances, activities for children, food and drinks, and more.

The annual festival is set to take place Saturday, March 16 from noon to 6 p.m. on Leigh Street between Movieland and the former Washington Commanders training facility in Scott’s Addition.

The event is free to attend for all ages. Food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the event area. There will be ATM's on site and most vendors accept credit cards.

Shamrock The Block benefits the programs of Project Local, a local organization that provides funding, marketing support and grants to small, local charities and foundations.

Organizers said there will be dozens of food options. Drink options include craft cocktails with Tito’s vodka, Bold Rock cider or canned cocktails, and beer from Hardywood’s Park Craft Brewery, Kindred Spirits Brewing and Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company.

Attendees will need to be mindful of some road closures in connection with the event. There will be no parking available between the 2000-2300 Blk. W. Leigh Street (Both Sides) between Hermitage Road & Meyers Street. This area will be for Ride Share/Drop-Off/Pick-Up

Organizers recommend parking in one of the lots surrounding the area, of which there are several. In addition, there is limited street parking throughout Scott's Addition.
