Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The General Assembly has returned to Richmond for what they say will be a short special session to appoint judges and spend over four billion in Covid relief funds. The money was provided to the Commonwealth from the federal governemnt.

It took little time after session started for the arguements to begin. Republicans say they have been included from the budgeting process, especially in the House of Delegates, where amendments are not being allowed in committee. However, Appropriations Chair Del. Luke Torian (D-Prince William) says his door has always been open, and that Democrats were often excluded when Republicans controlled the House.

This is the first session at and in the State Capitol since March 2020 because of Covid.
